Ever
since she was a little girl, Leighton Dolmseth dreamed
of getting married in Hawaii, where she was born
and raised. She never considered, however, the chance
that she might fall in love with a man from New
York, with friends and family on the east coast.
As fate would have it, that is precisely what happened.
Knowing the long-distance trip would prevent many
of the groom's friends and family from attending,
the couple, now living in California, set out to
find a venue that was closer to home. Upon viewing
the grounds of Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, the duo,
who met at the wedding of Chris' brother and one
of Leighton's friends, knew they had their site.
Next up was figuring out how to create the Hawaiian
look of Leighton's dreams. A hula dancer, maile
leis, and a ukulele player helped set the tone of
the event. The bride wore a custom-made gown fashioned
from a vintage kimono by a Hawaiian designer. |
